Some warmer weather, and full weed growth are really sending fish in to summer patterns. Walleye fishing has been a lot tougher, with the evening bite being the best. We did have a 9-1/2# walleye taken last week in the Phillips area - on a nightcrawler - my favorite summer walleye bait (and it was on an Elk River Custom Rod too!!!).
Bass fishing has been very good, but please catch and release, as many bass have still not spawned. It's really fun time for bassin', as topwater action is getting good in the evenings.
Muskie action has picked up, with several fish over 40" showing up. Smaller to mid-size bucktails seem to still be the most solid producer, but topwater baits have been pulling some fish too.
Panfishing has been good, but don't expect to find one honey hole and load up. You will need to keep moving, as the schools are pretty scattered, but the fish have still been hitting good. Small tube jigs under a bobber or slip bobber have been really good, as well as 1/32 oz. beetle spins with a 2" twister for a tail in place of the split tail.
Have a great 4th and Keep Smilin',
Marc
