Warranty and Shipping

Shipping - To ensure safe delivery of your order, all rods are carefully packed, and shipped via UPS, in heavy duty PVC tubes.  All other reels, tackle, and line is tightly packaged in cardboard boxes.  We take great pride in our product, and will package it to arrive to you in top condition.

ELK RIVER DOUBLE-COVERAGE 5-YEAR WARRANTY

 

Our Double-Coverage Warranty is designed to help protect our customers investments, regardless of the situation. By offering you two types of coverage plans in our warranty we ensure that you will always be covered with either our "Classic" or "No-Fault" Plan. This warranty applies to our "Classic Series" "ERX" & "Full-Custom Built" rods.

If your rod is broken or damaged at anytime during your initial warranty period, we have you covered!! The factors which contributed to the damage will determine which part of the Double-Coverage Warranty you will be covered under either the "Classic" or "No-Fault" Plan, but rest assured, you will qualify for one of them.

 

"CLASSIC" WARRANTY PLAN (Classic Series, ERX & Full-Custom Built Rods)

If you experience a problem due to defects workmanship or materials, Elk River Custom Rods will simply repair or replace your rod. This plan is not intended to cover accidental breakage or normal wear and tear due to extended use. If you believe the failure was due to a defect, please follow these easy steps to expedite your claim...

  • Write a note which lists your name, phone number, email address, physical address to ship the rod to and description of how the rod was damaged.
  • Include a check or Money Order for $25.00 which covers the return shipping and handling fee to us with the note enclosed.

"NO-FAULT" WARRANTY PLAN

Accidents happen... Even if the damage to your rod was not due to faulty workmanship or materials, we still want to take excellent care of our customers and keep you on-the-water with your Elk River Custom Rod. Rods are commonly exposed to conditions which they are not intended to handle. It happens....rods accidentally get stepped on, slammed in a car door, or worse yet, broken by improperly trying to free a snag. Rods are also commonly exposed to harsh conditions (such as being stepped on, but not actually breaking) which may cause a break at a later time. We value you as a customer and still want to take the best possible care of you. Follow these simple steps to utilze the "No-Fault" Coverage and apply for your replacement rod:
  • Package your rod in a disposable container with a check or money order for half of the current purchase price of that model plus $25.00 for return shipping/handling. Also enclose a note describing how the rod broke, your phone number, email address and mailing address to which you want the replacement shipped (contact us for the 50% value of most comparable model).
  • We will send the most comparable model to you within 7 business days, provided inventory allows. If your rod model has been discontinued we reserve the right to replace it with what we determine to be the most comparable rod model.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE RECEIVE THE ROD YOU RETURNED?????

  • When we receive the rod it will be thoroughly inspected. If the damage was determined to be caused by faulty workmanship or materials, we will certainly replace or repair your rod at no additional cost to you for the repair or replacement.
  • However, if evidence indicates that the damage was due to normal wear, neglect, exposure to damaging influences prior to the failure, an accident, or the rod being over compounded beyond it's intended design, we will contact you to advise you of the additional costs to repair or replace the rod (you may also take advantage of the "No-Fault" coverage in this case). Elk River Custom Rods, at it's sole discretion, reserves the right to determine the applicable warranty coverage.
