5 Year No Hassle Plus – If your rod blank breaks at anytime within 5 Years from your date of purchase, simply return it to your nearest participating dealer or Elk River Custom Rods with a check for $50.00 (Summit & Titan Series) or $60.00 (ERX Series & Special Orders) & dated proof- of- purchase to receive your replacement of the most comparable model……. it’s that simple. Plus you also have three additional options listed below.
Additional Option #1 (Blank Failure - Available First 12 Months): When a true defect in the material or workmanship does occur, we want to take full-responsibility. True defects will usually result in a failure during the first couple uses and should surely within the first season, so we offer this option for up to 12 months after your purchase. We will waive the standard replacement cost if our evaluation determines that rod breakage was due to a defect in workmanship or materials and it is within the first 12 months after your purchase . So, if you believe that the rod failure is due to defective material or workmanship, please return the rod to Elk River Custom Rods using the instructions below. If our evaluation shows evidence that the failure was due to a defect in materials or workmanship we will simply repair or replace your rod at no additional cost. If evidence indicates that the failure was due to an accident, neglect or normal wear, we will contact you to let you know the cost to repair or replace the rod. This option is not intended to cover misuse, abuse or neglect.
Additional Option #2 (Components Coverage): If you think that a defect in workmanship or materials caused a guide, reel seat, guide wrap or handle to fail please send the rod back to Elk River Custom Rods, with a check for $15.00 (Shipping). If evidence shows that the failure was due to a defect we will repair or replace your rod at no additional cost. If evidence shows that the failure was due to an accident, neglect or normal wear we will contact you and inform you of the cost to repair or replace your rod. This option is not intended to cover misuse, abuse or neglect.
Additional Option #3 (Upgrade Option): You may also upgrade the replacement of your broken rod. Simply pay the standard replacement fee plus the difference in cost between your damaged rod and the upgraded model of your choice. Please contact us when using this option.

A: We do have the year of manufacture marked on the rods as the last two numbers in the model number and the warranty will run from date of manufacture.
Q: What packaging method should I use when returning my rod?
A: PVC tubing is inexpensive and will adequately protect the rod in transit. Cardboard tubing is also sufficient if the wall thickness is about 1/8” - 1/4” thick. We recommend wrapping the rod in bubble wrap or similar material. Suspending the rod within the tube by wrapping a non-tearing tape around the reel seat and pulling a two-foot length from the inside and Sticking it to the outside of the tube so the tip of the rod is “suspended” within the tube and cannot slide forward and break the tip.
